On December 21-22, the second ChinaForum onPhysical Fitnessof Ice and Snow Sportswas held at Jilin University. More than 200 peopleattended the meeting, including experts from the Institute of Sports Science of the General Administration of Sport, the Physical Fitness Center of Wuhan Sports University, the Physical Training Branch of the China Sport Science Society, the University of Ithaca, the Capital University of Physical Education and Sports, Shanghai University of Sport, teachers and students ofdomesticsport universities and colleges, coachesof ice and snow sportsprojects and physical training, as well asrepresentatives of related fields .
At the opening ceremony,remarks were given byLi Danyang, Secretary-General of the Physical Training Branch of the China Sport Science Society, Chen Xiaoping, Deputy Director of the Branch, Qiu Peng, Dean of the Physical Education College of Jilin University, and Zhang Xiaomeng, Deputy Director of the Social Sciences Divisionof Jilin University. Li Danyang introduced the history and main functions of the Physical Fitness Training Branch of the China Sport Science Society, as well as the role of scientific physical training in mass fitness, special groups, special industries, ice and snow sports and disciplinedevelopment. Chen Xiaoping pointed out that the General Administration of Sportaimed tofocus on the scientific physical training to promote the scientific development of ice and snow sports training in China. Zhang Xiaomeng introduced theoverallsituation of Jilin University, hoping to take this forum as an opportunity to push ahead with the development of sports disciplines and iceand snowsports in Jilin University. Qiu Peng introduced the ice and snow projects of the Physical Education College of Jilin University and the overall development of the college. He hoped that this forumwouldbe a catalyst for the exchanges and cooperation between colleges and universities and promote thesounddevelopment ofphysical trainingfor ice and snow sports.
At the reportmeeting, 8 experts including Chen Xiaoping and Guan Hongweidelivered theirreports. In the Q&A session, the attendee representatives asked questions and interacted with experts based on their own study, research, and line of industry theywereworkingfor.
The forumwas themed on “Scientific Winter Sports Training”, sponsored by the Physical Training Branch of the China Sport Science Society, undertaken by the Physical Education College of Jilin University, and co-organized by the special project team of the National Key Research and Development Program--“Scientific and Technological Winter Olympics”. Through extensive exchanges on topics related to the scientific development of physical fitness training in ice and snow sports, the forum shared new theories, new methods and latest research results in the field of physical fitness training, and provided an exchange platform for physical fitness training workers, exerting a significant influence on the scientific development of physical fitness trainingofice and snowsportsin China.
